One Day, Papuan KKB Takes Action in 2 Locations, 1 Marine Falls and 1 Mes Burns



The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua went on a rampage in two locations simultaneously on Friday (22/4) afternoon.

They set fire to a machine belonging to PT Martha Tunggal Tehnik (MTT) in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.

On Friday afternoon, KKB also attacked the Marine Estuary Task Force Post (Mupe) Battalion 3rd Marines in Kalikote, Nduga Regency, Papua.

This KKB attack caused the death of Pratu Mar Dwi Miftahul Ahyar. One marine, namely Major Mar Lilik Cahyanto, was hit by a reset on his shoulder.

The arson action carried out by KKB in Kago Village did not cause any casualties because the mess was no longer occupied by PT MTT employees.

However, the incident caused the building to burn out.

Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri told ANTARA in Jayapura, Friday (22/4) night, admitting that he had not received a full report from the Puncak Police Chief regarding the incident.

"I am still waiting for a full report from the Puncak Police Chief," said Inspector General Fakhiri, who was on a working visit to Serui, Yapen Islands Regency.

Mes PT MTT has been empty since the shooting incident on an employee on February 19 which left the victim, Glenn Sumampauw, injured.

At that time, in addition to shooting PT MTT employees, members of the KKB at that time also burned down residents' houses.

Meanwhile, regarding the KKB's action against the Estuary Marines Task Force Post (Mupe) Marine Battalion-3 in Kalikote, Nduga Regency, Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Inf. Herman Taryaman said the incident was only discovered on Saturday (23/4) morning.

The victim was immediately evacuated to Timika using a Caracal helicopter belonging to the Indonesian Air Force.

Lt. Col. Herman said the body of Pratu Mar Dwi Miftahul Ahyar would be buried in his hometown in Lamongan, East Java.

Previously, on March 26, 2022, the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya attacked the Mupe Task Force Post in Kwareh Bawah, Nduga Regency.

The KKB attack left two Marines dead and eight people injured.

Two marines who died in the KKB attack, namely Dan Pos Letda Mar Moh Iqbal and Private Mar Wilson Anderson.
