Pangdam Cenderawasih gave agricultural tools to residents of Yagara Village

The Commander of Kodam (Pangdam) XVII/Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Teguh Muji Angkasa provided assistance in the form of agricultural tools and Bibles to residents in Yagara Village, Wamena District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua.

Head of Information for Kodam (Kapendam) XVII/Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Kav. Herman Taryaman in a press release in Jayapura, Friday, said that after providing assistance, the Military Commander immediately witnessed the processing of Arabica coffee beans in Yagara Village.

"So the assistance for agricultural tools and Bibles was given by the Military Commander during his visit and the Chairperson of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Region XVII/Cenderawasih Erni Teguh Muji Angkasa to Wamena," he said.

The working visit of the Regional Military Commander to see firsthand the unity of both TNI Soldiers and Persit and to know the condition of the territorial area of Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih.
 

"When they arrived at Yagara, the Military Commander and his entourage were greeted with the Baliem Valley traditional dance and welcomed by the Deputy Regent of Jayawijaya Marthen Yogobi, Chairman of the local DPRD Matias Tabuni, Community Leader Niligi Kurisi and Chairman of LMA Jayawijay aHerman Doga," he said.

He said the Pangdam and the Persit head visited the Korem 172/PWY area to be precise at Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya then to Infantry Battalion 756/WMS and Makodim 1702/Jayawijaya.

"There the Military Commander gave several directives, the point of which was that soldiers should always be close to the community, be a solution in overcoming problems and most importantly help the community," he said again.

Yagara chief Maksimus Itlay hopes that the Pangdam's visit to his village can make them more advanced and create jobs.
