Marines who died in the KKB attack in Papua have been evacuated

A TNI soldier who died in an attack by an armed criminal group (KKB) at the 3 Marine Marines Battalion Mupe Kodim Task Force Post in Kalikote, Nduga Regency, Papua has been successfully evacuated.

Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lektol Kav Herman Taryawan said the evacuation process took place Saturday (23/4/2022) at 09.56 WIT.

"Then at 11.15 WIT Carakal Heli arrived at Mimika Airport, then the body of Almahrum Pratu Mar Dwi Miftahul Ahyar was taken to Mimika Hospital for relocation of the body," explained Herman in his statement.

Furthermore, Pratu Dwi's body will be returned to his home in Lamongan Regency, East Java, Sunday (4/24/2022) tomorrow.
 
During the attack on Friday (22/4/2022), another TNI soldier, Marine Major Lilik Cahyanto, was injured.

"There was a recolset in the shoulder," said Herman.

However, Herman said that no civilians were victims in the incident.

TNI soldiers, he continued, are currently also on standby to anticipate further armed contact.

"Especially at the shooting location, they are on standby to anticipate further fire attacks from KST (terrorist civilian groups) gangs," he added.
