PT Freeport donates a mini ICU ambulance to the Mimika Health Office



PT Freeport Indonesia donated one mini ambulance ICU (Intensive Care Unit) to the Mimika District Health Office to support health services to residents in the area.

PTFI Director & EVP Social Responsibility & Community Development Claus Wamafma in Timika, Monday, said the cooperation between Freeport and the Mimika Regency Government has been going well through education, health, fisheries and other programs.

In 2021, said Claus, Freeport has also donated a health clinic in the Pomako Port area of East Mimika District, a health clinic in SP9 Iwaka District and an SP12 health clinic in Kuala Kencana District to be managed by the Mimika Health Office.

The mini ICU ambulance which was donated by Freeport is to support services at the three health clinics.

"This is not an ordinary ambulance, there are mini ICU equipment for handling emergency patients, not only lifting patients but can take emergency actions when there is danger," said Claus Wamafma.

Freeport, said Claus, continues to be committed to supporting the government in the development and development of the Mimika community.

"The point is that Freeport will continue to exist together with the government, we will become government colleagues, become government partners to help accelerate development for the people of Mimika Regency," said Claus.

Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng when receiving the handover of a mini ICU ambulance from PTFI said this year the Mimika Regency Government would build a Type D Hospital in Banti Village, Tembagapura District with a budget allocation from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) worth Rp62 billion.

On that occasion, Eltinus Omaleng handed over four ambulance units and eight mobile health motorbikes for health workers on duty in the City and suburbs of Timika.

Secretary of the Mimika Health Office Marselinus Mameyao said ambulances were given to the Jile Yale, Central Market, Wania, and Kwamki Narama Health Centers, while motorbikes were given to Ayuka, Mapurujaya, Wania, Limau Asri, Central Market, Bhintuka, Timika Jaya and Jile Yale Health Centers.

The budget for the ambulance was sourced from the DAK amounting to IDR 3.2 billion and the motorcycle procurement budget amounting to IDR 410,800,000.
