Commemorating Hardiknas, SATP Implements Freedom of Learning Through Various Competitions

Commemorating National Education Day (Hardiknas) in 2022, the Papuan Taruna Boarding School (SATP) under the auspices of the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK) which manages PT Freeport Indonesia's partnership fund, held various competitions with the theme 'Education Changes the World Through Free Learning. '.

Learning is carried out like snakes and ladders for Small Classes 1 and 2. As well as intelligence for grades 3-6 and 7-8 or junior high school (SMP) level.

Head of SATP Johana MM Tnunay said that during these 2 days, 29-30 April 2022, the SATP held a National Education Day commemoration with the theme 'Education Changes the World Through Free Learning'.
 
'Freedom of Learning itself is a step to transform education for the realization of Indonesia's Superior Human Resources (HR) who have the Pancasila Student Profile'.

From this, the SATP has prepared students towards Independent Learning through the teaching and learning process (PBM) with smart TVs and natural laboratories.

In addition, the teachers have very creative and needed materials. And, in the classroom, the teachers also mapped the students, so that students get additional treatment if needed.
 
“We know that every child has a different character. So that learning here is more to the needs of children," he said.
 
For this reason, in commemoration of the National Education Day, the SATP held various competitions, such as quizzes, class beauty, and snakes and ladders.

The quiz competition itself is a representation of the learning in class.

"Meanwhile, the game of snakes and ladders leads more to learning mathematics. Where, if you get stairs, it means addition and if you go down, it means subtraction," he explained.
 
Then, there was the class party. In this activity, children are taught to be more orderly in terms of eating or table manners. Where, here children are taught to know more about the rules and etiquette of eating.

Plus, yesterday there was a screening of the Pen Bridge film. This film gives the spirit and motivation that through the pen they can succeed.
 
"From those competitions, what is no less important is teaching children's character to be more disciplined," he said.

Meanwhile, Solinus Dekme, a class VIII B student who is also the Chair of the SATP OSIS, said that the National Education Day was a milestone in commemoration of education in Indonesia, including Papua. With education we can all know about all things.

“Therefore, we are very grateful for the pattern of education in the SATP. Hopefully what we get can make me and my friends become leaders in our own area,” he said.

Meanwhile, this National Education Day commemoration is very good. Because this is the application of knowledge gained during learning.

“Through these competitions, we know the shortcomings in learning. So it can be improved again," he said.
