Merauke Regent Invites Artists to Encourage Central Government to Set National Drawing Day
The Regent of Merauke, Romanus Mbaraka, together with the community of artists (supa art lovers) encouraged the Central Government (Pempus) of the Republic of Indonesia to establish a National Drawing Day in conjunction with National Education Day (Hardiknas) May 2.
"We, from Merauke together with friends who love drawing, are trying to encourage the central government to set a national drawing day," said Merauke Regent Romanus Mbaraka on the sidelines of reviewing the black and white image exhibition at the Merauke Time Capsule Monument, Papua, Sunday (15/5). /2022).
According to the number one person in Bumi Merauke, drawing should be a national activity because it is part of formal and informal education.

According to Romanus Mbaraka, the community has provided many trainings for millennials to develop and channel their hobbies and talents, especially in the field of fine arts.
"What my friends who love art do really have a good initiative. Thank you Chapung Art Center," he said.
Meanwhile, Chapung Art Center curator, Ady Jojo, added that it is the desire of art lovers for the government to set a national drawing day starting next year.
"Hopefully next year, the government can fulfill the hopes of the art-loving community, which coincides with the May 2 National Education Day," he said.
