BI Papua hopes that economic writing training will improve journalists' skills

The Representative Office (KPw) of Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Province hopes that the training in writing economic news can improve the ability of local journalists and develop their capacity in carrying out journalistic duties in the Bumi Cenderawasih region.
 
Head of KPw BI Papua Juli Budhi Winantya in Denpasar, Saturday, said that through the training his party also hopes that journalists, both print, electronic and online media, remain relevant and can encourage development in Papua.
 
"We hope that the writing of economic news can be further developed so that it can also have an impact on the Papuan economy," he said.
 
According to Juli, at the event there will be "sharing" including the role of the media in shaping public perception, the development of the digital economy and BI technical policies as well as the development of the Papuan economy.
 
"Lastly, he made a visit to the waste manager, which is hoped that later through this 'gathering' media activity, it can encourage implementation in Papua," he said.
 
He explained that with this visit the journalists will be shown how the Bali Provincial Government manages their waste so that it can be a provision to enrich journalists' references when writing articles.
 
"With this visit in the future, it is hoped that it can also be a picture of a new source of economy in Papua," he said again.
 
Meanwhile, one of the training participants, TVRI Papua journalist Irsa Yoku said that with this activity, his party hoped that when covering activities and their relation to the economy, they could better understand what issues should be raised.
 
"Not only that, what is important in our reporting is that it can have a positive effect so that it has an impact on the community," he said.
 
For your information, BI held a "media gathering" which took place from 10-12 June 2022 with 25 Papuan journalists with the theme "Capacity Building Journalists" in Denpasar.
