Nabire Indigenous Peoples Institutions Declaration of Support for the Expansion of New Guinea and Special Autonomy Volume II in the Land of Papua

With the aim of improving the welfare of the Papuan people, the Indigenous Community Institution (LMA) of Nabire Regency along with community leaders and harmony throughout Nabire Regency, Wednesday (15/06/2022) held a peace declaration supporting the expansion of the new autonomous regions and Special Autonomy Volume 2, centered at the Nabire Regency LMA office. .

The declaration of peace which was witnessed by representatives of the TNI-Polri, was read aloud by hundreds of LMA members and community and community leaders who were present, guided by the Chairperson of the LMA of Nabire Regency, Karel Misiro.

The following is the text of the Declaration of Peace.

"We, the indigenous peoples' institutions, the chiefs of the ulayat rights and harmony in Nabire Regency, approve and support the expansion of the new autonomous region and Special Autonomy Volume 2, on the land of Papua in order to improve the welfare of the people."

In his remarks, Chairman of the Indigenous Peoples Institution of Nabire Regency, Karel Misiro stated, LMA and indigenous community leaders support the expansion of DOB and OTSUS volume 2 in Papua, in order to improve the welfare of the Papuan people, both in the field of Papuan customary law (hak ulayat land), all acts of violence or disturbance in the community, the company's industry in wood processing in each district area as well as the protection rights of OAP, in the territory of local indigenous peoples.
 
"I, as chairman of the LMA along with Indigenous Community Leaders, voiced the declaration of a peaceful Papua for the expansion of the new autonomous regions and Special Autonomy Volume 2 in Papua, this is in accordance with the results of the LMA deliberations throughout Tanah Papua on May 31, 2022, a strong commitment to support regional expansion for the sake of prosperity Papuan land. Obviously.

Meanwhile, Community Leader, JS Maniani who also delivered his speech stated that currently, there are still pros and cons regarding the expansion of new autonomous regions, but actually those who already understand the benefits and objectives of new autonomous regions will definitely support the government's plan to expand regions, because what we must do is understand is, the Government is a representative of God in the world, so what will be done for the welfare of society.

"Until now, there are still many pros and cons about new autonomous regions and Otsus volume 2, but those who understand, will definitely support it, because if you look at the expansion of new autonomous regions for the welfare of the community, the government is God's representative in the world, what is decided and planned, must be supported for well-being." he concluded.
 
The peaceful declaration of support for the DOB and Otsus Volume 2, which was held by the Nabire Regency Indigenous Peoples Institution, Community Leaders and Indigenous Harmony took place safely and smoothly.
