Kominfo Develops the Digital Ability of Biak Youth

The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) held a video-making workshop on social media 'Digital Workshop for My Teras Negeri: Productive Papua' at the Boom Byak Center, Biak Numfor Regency, West Papua, some time ago. This activity aims to improve the creativity and digital quality of Biak Numfor youth.

Information and Communications Coordinator for Defense and Security at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Dikdik Sadaka, said that the TikTok and Instagram Reels applications, apart from being a means of communication, could also be used to increase the creativity of young people. They can produce a wide variety of positive, informative, and creative content on social media.

"The success of Indonesia's development in the current digital era, one of which is technology literacy, especially in the digital world in creating positive content," said Dikdik as quoted from a written statement, Saturday (9/7/2022).
 
One of the most popular social media platforms is TikTok. He hopes that young people in Papua can show a productive Papua through social media.

One of the participants, Amechya Grace Aprilia Andarek, said that this workshop can support youth creativity by developing digital applications.

"Workshops are very interesting for us and not boring. This workshop is very exciting because we don't just come and sit and listen to speakers talk. But, in this workshop we are given space to create positive content with a productive point of view," he said.

The workshop featured an influencer from Jayapura, Mitchell Stevani and educator from Papua, Ochy, who also shared information about personal branding and video-making techniques on social media.
