DPD RI Ensures the Presence of Papua New Guinea Law to Protect OAP's Basic Rights
The 12th Plenary Session of the DPD RI reports the results of the implementation of tasks during the Session V Period of the 2021-2022 Session Year.
The 12th Plenary Session was chaired by the Deputy Chairperson of the DPD RI Nono Sampono, Mahyudin, and Sultan B Najamudin with three main agendas, namely the Swearing of Oaths/Promises of Interim Replacement (PAW), Reports on the Implementation of Complementary Equipment Tasks, and Ratification of DPD RI Decisions.
Starting the trial, the DPD RI leadership took the oath/pledge of Interim Alternation (PAW) for DPD RI members in the Electoral District of Bangka Belitung Province, Herry Erfian, replacing DPD RI members from Bangka Belitung (late) Hudarni Rani.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of the PPUU DPD RI Badikenita Sitepu reported on the development of the Bill on Digital Governance. The contents of the bill are aimed at fulfilling government administration that can adopt technological developments and digitization.
According to the PPUU of the DPD RI, this regulation is needed because currently there is no law-level regulation that covers digitalization in government administration.
"PPUU has streamlined several activities to obtain material enrichment for the Bill on Digital Governance as an initiative of the DPD RI, mainly digital transformation," said the Senator from North Sumatra.
After that, Committee I DPD RI submitted a report on the progress of the implementation of tasks, namely the results of DPD RI's supervision on the implementation of Law Number 43 of 2008 concerning State Territory, DPD RI's views on five bills on the Province, namely the Bill on the Province of West Sumatra, the Bill on Jambi Province, the Bill on Riau Province, the Bill on the Province of West Nusa Tenggara and the Bill on the Province of East Nusa Tenggara, and the views of the DPD RI on the Bill on the Formation of the Province of South Papua, the Bill on the Formation of the Province of Central Papua, and the Bill on the Formation of the Province of Papua Mountains.
"DPD RI underlines that the presence of the Law on the Province of South Papua, the Law on the Province of Central Papua, and the Law on the Province of Papua in the Mountains is to protect and uphold dignity, affirm and protect the basic rights of Indigenous Papuans, so as not to be marginalized, both in the economic and political fields. , as well as socio-cultural," said Chairman of Committee I DPD RI Fachrul Razi.
Meanwhile, the implementation of the duties of Committee II for Session V Session Year 2021-2022 is to draft a Bill on Amendments to Law Number 30 of 2007 concerning Energy, Supervision of the Implementation of Law Number 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping and its amendments in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Copyrights. Work, Supervision of the Implementation of Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries as amended by Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries and its amendments in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, Supervision of DPD RI on the Implementation of Law Number 7 of 2016 concerning the protection and empowerment of fishermen, fish raisers and salt farmers and the amendments thereto in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.
"During the recess, Committee II will supervise the implementation of Law Number 18 of 2009 concerning Livestock and Animal Health as amended by Law Number 41 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 18 of 2009 concerning Animal Husbandry and Health and its amendments to Law Number 11. 2020 is about job creation," said Yorrys Raweyai.

At that session, Committee IV reported on the Initiative Bill on Amendments to Law Number 1 of 2013 concerning Microfinance Institutions, DPD RI's Considerations on Candidates for Members of the RI BPK, DPD RI's Considerations on the Macroeconomic Framework and Principles of Fiscal Policy in the 2023 State Budget Bill. , and DPD RI's consideration of the 2021 Semester II Examination Results Summary.
"During this recess, Committee IV will carry out supervision of laws and national priority programs in the regions, Supervision of the Implementation of Law no. 6 of 2021 concerning the 2022 State Budget concerning the 2022 State Budget and Supervision of the Implementation of Law no. 21 of 2011 concerning the Financial Services Authority,” said the Chairman of Committee IV DPD RI Sukiryanto.
Furthermore, at the 12th plenary session, other equipment that makes decisions is the BAP DPD RI, BULD DPD RI, Deliberative Committee (Panmus), PCR Special Committee and Job Creation Special Committee. While the tools that did not make a decision were PURT, BK, BKSP and the BLBI Special Committee.
