BI Papua is optimistic that after the Coffee Festival the economic recovery will be better
The Representative Office (KPw) of Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Province is optimistic that the high enthusiasm of residents who come to the 2022 Papua Coffee Festival is a good sign for economic recovery in Cenderawasih Earth.
Head of Bank Indonesia Papua Province Representative Office Juli Budi Winantya in Jayapura, Sunday, said this was based on more than 4000 visitors per day, compared to last year's 2,700 people.
"This indicates that people's purchasing power is also increasing," he said.
According to July, transactions during the four-day Papua Coffee Festival reached Rp. 300 million, so his party hopes that the economic recovery in Papua will improve.
"In terms of transactions per day and visitors, the purchasing power of the people who come is quite high, so that economic growth will increase," he said.
On this occasion, he confirmed that the economic recovery was starting to occur in Papua, after economic growth in the second quarter of 2022 was recorded at 14.38 percent, or better than the first quarter of 2022 of 13.33 percent.
"We hope that in the third quarter it will also increase and in the future with the exhibition, the coffee commodity will play a greater role in the Papuan economy," he said.
He hopes that all MSMEs and Papuan coffee can go international with as many as 50 MSMEs currently being assisted to enter the digital platform or known as On Boarding MSMEs.
