Jayapura City Government socializes tourist attraction planning documents

The City Government (Pemkot) of Jayapura, Papua Province, through the local Tourism Office, disseminated the tourist attraction planning document to the manager of the Holtekam Beach tourist attraction, Thursday.

Head of the Jayapura City Tourism Office Mathias Mano in Jayapura, Thursday, said the socialization was to provide understanding as well as receive input from the manager of the Holtekam Beach tourist attraction related to the master plan (master plan) for the area.

"To attract visitors, we will carry out construction and of course there must be a planning document so that we hope that by 2022 the construction will be running and the community can also support it," he said.

According to Mathias, Holtekam Beach motorcycle taxis are very good to be managed to become one of the destinations that attract local visitors and foreign tourists.

"So we hope that in the future Holtekam Beach can be managed jointly between the Jayapura City Government and the local community well," said Mathias.

He explained that in the socialization, his party invited tourism practitioners and planning experts to synergize with the government in developing tourism objects.

Previously, Acting Regional Secretary Robby Awi said tourism is a sector that has a role and function in regional economic development.

"Moreover, Jayapura City has a beautiful panorama to be developed into a tourist destination that attracts visitors," said Robby Awi.

He added that to realize this, it is necessary to carry out tourism development by preparing supporting facilities and infrastructure needed by tourists.

"We hope that in the future tourism actors and tourism object managers in villages around tourist destinations can develop their potential in accordance with good planning for tourists," said Robby.

The socialization of the Holtekam Beach tourist attraction planning took place on August 25-26 at a hotel in Jayapura City and was opened by the Acting Regional Secretary for the City of Jayapura Robby Awi on Thursday (25/8).
