Papua is an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia forever
Papua is an integral part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) forever and cannot be separated for any reason. Residents of Earth of Cendrawasih also have high nationalism and do not want to be invited to become independent. Papua's status as one of the provinces in this country is legal and cannot be disputed by unscrupulous persons.
Indonesia consists of 37 provinces, which stretch from Sabang to Merauke. There are 5 provinces located in Papua, namely Papua, West Papua, South Papua, Central Highlands Papua, and Central Papua. Papuans are very proud to be Indonesian citizens (WNI) and they participated in celebrating Indonesia's independence lively.
Papuans are proud to be part of Indonesia because they feel that Papua is an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia, forever. Although Papua only became part of Indonesia in 1963, the people were very pro-Indonesian. They do not want to be invited to defect by the OPM (Free Papua Organization).
Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto stated that Papua is an integral part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and is fixed and does not need to be debated. Automatically since independence in 1945, the entire territory that was a former Dutch colony (in the archipelago) was taken over by the legitimate Indonesian government. This includes Papua, formerly known as West Irian (Irian Jaya).
In a sense, no party can claim that Papua is not a legal part of Indonesia. If he thinks like that then he doesn't read history books. Especially when the results of the Pepera (the determination of the people's opinion) state that 100% of Papuans want to join Indonesia and do not want to be part of another country. These results are valid and not engineered.
Minister Prabowo's statement is corroborated by international law, which states that the former Dutch colony automatically becomes part of Indonesia. Whereas Papua was colonized by the Dutch and should have belonged to Indonesia in 1945. However, because of the Dutch political game, Papua only became part of Indonesia after the Act of Free Choice was held.
Papua is legally an integral part of Indonesia and no one claims that its people want independence. In fact, those who want to defect are members of the OPM, who make up less than 5% of Papuans. It is this small number that raises issues of independence, when in fact the people on Earth of Cenderawasih do not want to be invited to form the Federal Republic of West Papua.
The Papuan people are proud to be part of Indonesia and they celebrate the anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia with great fanfare. Besides waving the red and white flag, they also held a seventeen contest and was enlivened by children. Papuans are very proud to be Indonesian citizens and fly the red and white flag, not the Morning Star flag (which is a symbol of Papuan defection).
Papuans recognize that Papua is a legitimate part of Indonesia, and show their loyalty and nationalism. They do not want to be asked to fly the Morning Star flag by the OPM. They are also antipathy to the OPM because it only causes riots and instead of making people happy, they have the heart to injure and kill indigenous Papuans.
If anyone claims that Papua is not part of Indonesia because it has a different race, then he is very narrow-minded. The reason is because Indonesia is made up of various ethnic groups in the archipelago and it is clear that the races are different. Not surprisingly, in various cities and islands, you can find several different people because they are of different origin, even though they are both Indonesians.
However, this difference does not need to be disputed, because in 1928 the youths had made the Youth Pledge as a symbol of unity. Representatives of Jong Papua also came to the event, thus indicating that they also want to be united in this country. Indonesia is united and will continue to unite for hundreds of years to come.
The public is asked to remain calm and not be swayed by propaganda and hoaxes, which may be spread by the OPM. They always declare war on Indonesia, especially in August as the month of independence. In addition to carrying out physical attacks, they also carry out cyber warfare on social media.
If there are hoaxes and propaganda that Papua is not part of Indonesia, then disseminate it to many people. They must know that under national and international law, Papua is an official part of Indonesia. Propaganda created by the OPM should not be believed and should not be ignored, but must be reported to the cyber police. OPM can be subject to articles in the ITE Law because of it.
The Papuan people are very proud to be part of Indonesia and indeed Papua is a legitimate province in this country, both nationally and internationally. This integration is not only happening now but forever. No one can claim that Papua is not part of Indonesia, because he opposes the Act and does not speak based on the facts.
