Threat of Bullying Sambal, PRP Lapago Asks Immigrants to Leave Papua

A misguided claim is being played by members of the Papuan People's Petition Organization (PRP) Lapago who stated that his party would impose what the community wanted by returning the Indonesian people in the Lapago Region to their respective territories. The basis of coercion is called because the state has imposed what they want in the Lapago area by ratifying the new autonomous regions of the Papua Mountains Province.

Through the Lapago PRP Joint Coordinator, Namene Elopere said that state officials in Jakarta had forced the Papuan people, especially in the Lapago area. On this basis, his party in the next few months will force the Indonesian people in Lapago to return to their respective villages. This step was in response to the PRP's aspirations which, according to him, were not heard by the state. So that then unilaterally they want to force the people's wishes by forcing the Indonesian people to return to their respective hometowns.

On a legal basis, the threat is clearly violated. There is no party that can force immigrants or even Papuans to leave the domicile area because of an unclear background. In addition, from the point of view of the sentences conveyed they tend to position themselves as if Papua is separated from the territory of Indonesia. It was an accident or something that was on the agenda that the request for a referendum was actually the root of the threatening mode with the issue of rejecting the new autonomous regions.

Proximity of PRP and KNPB

The name of the PRP organization began to emerge when several times it went out of its cage to carry out demonstrations against the new DOB policy, Otsus, and requests for a referendum which were never absent from their demands. The existence of the last point is not surprising. The reason is that in a number of PRP actions in several areas of Papua, the KNPB masses have always received support, which sometimes triggers riots. Even the spokesman for the PRP, Jefry Wenda at the time of the action last May, was caught with the spokesman for the Central KNPB Ones Suhuniap, including members of the Papuan Student Alliance (AMP).

The arrest of Jefry Wenda adds to the long list of facts about the links between the organizers of the action and certain groups. Again, KNPB seems to have never been absent, coupled with the presence of AMP representing the students. Both are openly opposed to the government and have an agenda for the struggle for Papuan independence. In cases such as in Papua, the interests of certain parties have been proven to have infiltrated and even mounted the intention of action, it can even be said by design for the interests of their group. Included in this is the threat from the Lapago PRP. It is clear that his motives boil down to the demand for a referendum.

The PRP's Rejection of DOB does not represent the aspirations of the Papuan people

The rise of demonstrations against Otsus and DOB by the PRP does not represent the Papuan people at all. The claim that the organization consists of grassroots movements, youth, students, and Papuan communities spread across Papua cannot be justified. The street action actually received a lot of criticism from the Papuan people.

The rise of the action even received a strong response from Ondoafi-ondoafi in the Sentani customary area. Ondoafi Yakob Fiobetau said that people from outside the Tabi customary land who came to live on the Tabi customary land should respect the Tabi customary community, especially the Sentani indigenous community, by not taking actions that could disrupt the security and social security situation in the Tabi customary area. In addition, Yanto Eluai as Ondoafi Kampung Sereh, conveyed loudly to any group that would carry out anarchic actions and disrupt the security and security situation carried out on Tabi customary land, because we Tabi customary children want our area to develop and develop.

Wamena Community Supports DOB Policy

This is the opposite of PRP Lapago's statement, that people in Wamena are not what they say they are. There is no such thing as coercion or domination, because the expansion policy is basically an old hope from the Papuan people. The majority of the community supports this policy as an effort to accelerate progress and improve public services.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Wetipo during his visit to Wamena some time ago hoped that the establishment of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) for the Papua Mountains Province could promote welfare for the community. Until now, the central government continues to make efforts to carefully prepare the formation of new autonomous regions so that the welfare of the Papuan people is increasingly raised. Therefore, his party invites various elements of society and leaders in Papua Mountains to welcome the formation of new autonomous regions properly.

The existence of the new autonomous region policy is a golden opportunity for generations in Papua Mountains to be able to obtain better welfare. On behalf of the central government, his party has high hopes regarding the formation of the mountainous Papua New Guinea. He is optimistic that in the future, as time goes by, people will feel prosperity through the impact of the new autonomous regions of Papua Mountains Province.

The same thing was also stated by a community leader from the central highlands of Papua Province, Lenis Kogoya who supports the formation of new autonomous regions in Papua. He views that there is a need for a Provincial DOB in the central highlands of Papua because it is feasible and the community has longed for it. Several proposals for new regencies in the mountainous region of Papua, for example Bogoga, Trikora, Baliem Center, and Yahukimo.

He firmly stated, “The people who ask for this development, we also want to move forward. For those who don't want to come forward, please go ahead, but the rest of us will continue to advance with the government."

The threat from the Lapago PRP is an indication for those who do not want to come forward. Of course, we understand that those who reject most of the government's policies are opposition or separatist groups who want to be separated from Indonesia. Please judge for yourself the position of the PRP which always inserts a request for a referendum in every action against the division of the province.
