Manokwari will Own the Papua Youth Creative HUB Building to Facilitate Youth Creativity

The Local Government (Pemda) of Manokwari Regency, West Papua has donated two hectares of land to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to be used to build the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building in Manokwari.
 
The land that was donated is located in Sowi Village, South Manokwari District, Manokwari, or to be precise in the former Learning Activity Center (SKB) in South Manokwari District.
 
"The land grant is for Inspirational Young Papua activities. The land that is donated is two hectares," said the Deputy Regent of Kab. Manokwari Edi Budoyo at a restaurant in the Pasir Putih area, Kec. Manokwari Tim, Kab. Manokwari, West Papua, Sunday (25/9/2022).

According to Edi, currently the land to be donated is still in the process of land certification by the relevant agency. Edi targets this administrative process to be completed in less than a month.

Edi hopes that with the construction of the PYCH Building in Manokwari, young people can carry out inspirational, positive activities, increase their skills and soft skills, in order to support the acceleration of community welfare in Papua and West Papua.

PMI West Papua Region Coordinator Simon Tabuni welcomed the PYCH development in Manokwari. He thanked BIN, the Regional Government and all parties who encouraged the realization of this development.

"It would be extraordinary if there was a PYCH in West Papua. Incidentally, PMI is in 9 districts and 1 city in West Papua," said Simon accompanied by Deputy IV for BIN's Economic Intelligence, Gde Made Kartikajaya at the PMI West Papua Secretariat, Amban area, Manokwari District West.

According to Simon, the PYCH building will be a place for self-development for young people throughout Papua, especially in West Papua. Later there will be various trainings to be able to facilitate young talents so that they can improve their human resources.

Simon stated that PMI and BIN want to be involved in improving the economy of the people of Papua and West Papua. This is in line with Presidential Instruction Number 09 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Welfare in Papua and West Papua.

Reporting from Antara, the construction of the PYCH Building in Manokwari itself is known to have been initiated by the Head of BIN, General Pol (Ret.) Budi Gunawan and President Joko Widodo, and was greeted enthusiastically by the youth and the people of Papua.

BIN's Deputy IV for Economic Intelligence, Gde Made Kartikajaya, directly inspected the location of the land that was donated. Present to accompany PMI's children, the Lurah in Sowi Village, South Manokwari District, Jeckson Ullo and other figures. Jeckson expressed his support for the construction of the PYCH Building in Manokwari.

The plan is that PYCH Buildings will be built in 7 customary areas in Papua and West Papua Provinces, as well as 1 PYCH Building in Maluku Province.

The development plan was supported by all institutions and institutions, and was enthusiastically welcomed by the youth and the community.

Currently, the PYCH Building has been built in Jayapura, Papua Province. The construction on the 1.5 hectare land has reached 84.137 percent. The plan is for this building to be completed and inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in October 2022 or at the latest in December 2022. Meanwhile, the PYCH Building in Manokwari is only preparing the land.

The laying of the first stone for the construction of the PYCH Building has been carried out by President Jokowi in October 2021. Jokowi is planning to inaugurate the use of the building by Jokowi.

The construction of the PYCH Building which was initiated by Inspirational Young Papua (PMI) with support from the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). The construction of the building is expected to become a center for developing the talents and creativity of young people in Papua.

It is also hoped that the creativity that has been owned by young Papuan friends can appear on the national and international stage.
