Papuan People's Assembly Asks Lukas Enembe to Comply With Legal Process
Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) member Dorince Mehue supports law enforcement efforts by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against Lukas Enembe.
Dorince believes that the KPK and PPATK have strong evidence so that they dare to name the Papuan governor as a suspect in a corruption case.
"As a Papuan citizen from the female component, I see the Lukas Enembe case as a legal process that must be passed properly," said Dorince in a press release, Monday (26/9).
He asked Lukas to cooperate so that the legal process could run well. Then Luke's attorney was also asked not to give a provocative statement because it could cause an unfavorable situation.
"Let's give support to Lukas Enembe to go through the legal process. Lukas Enembe must cooperate with the legal process so that it runs smoothly," said Dorince.
Dorince also asked the Papuan people to remain calm and obey the applicable law and guard the case of Lukas Enembe.
He also mentioned about some of the corruption funds that Lukas used for gambling.
According to him, gambling using corruption funds is very unethical because in the villages in Papua there are still many poor and suffering people.
Dorence said that the security situation in Papua must remain safe and comfortable. The reason is, in October 2022, Papua will host a national event, namely the Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago which will be held in the Tabi customary area, Jayapura.
