Support Law Enforcement in Papua, Eluay: So We Know the Causes of the Failed Autonomy

Indigenous leader Tabi Yanto Eluay fully supports law enforcement measures taken in Papua.

"We fully support it," he said, Saturday (17/9/2022).

He then touched on the policy of Special Autonomy (Otsus) in Papua
 
As a traditional leader, continued Eluay, he strongly supports Otsus Volume 2 so that this law enforcement step must be taken to ensure the implementation of the said policy in Papua.

On the other hand, many Papuans reject the continuation of Otsus volume 2 on the grounds that the first one is considered a failure and is not successful.

"So we appeal to the community if they think that Otsus has failed or not, let's find out where the cause of the failure is together. We ask that the implementation of Otsus volume 1 be evaluated, so that we both know the truth,” Eluay urged.
 
He also explained that the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, would be questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after he became a suspect.

And for that, he asked the Papuan people to give moral support to Governor Enembe.

"It's just that I hope that the actions of moral support for him are carried out in a polite and dignified manner. We believe that law enforcement, state institutions (KPK, ed) as well as the Police will open up and the people of Papua will know that this is the cause of the failure of the welfare of the people in Papua," he said.

Eluay also invited to show Papua's identity as a law-abiding society.

"Because whatever the legal process goes, everything is for the good and progress of the Papuan people," he concluded.
