The Biak Numfor Regency Government prepares a regional regulation for the formation of an UPTD for waste processing

The Biak Numfor Regency Government, Papua, is preparing a Regent Regulation (Perbup) regarding the Establishment of a Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for the Final Processing Site (TPA) of waste in this area.

"This year we propose a Perbup for TPA in this area, after that we propose the facilities and personnel," said Head of the Biak Regency Environment and Hygiene Service, Numfor Iwan Ismulyanto, after a focus group discussion in Biak, Wednesday.

Iwan said the formation of the TPA UPTD to carry out reforestation and maintenance in the TPA environment, and the processing of wastewater treatment plants) at the TPA.

"The Biak TPA UPTD will also record, administer and weigh the volume of waste that goes to the TPA and coordinate the security of the TPA and the provision of supporting infrastructure and operations for the TPA," he said.

He said that currently assistance has been carried out on the formation of the Biak TPA UPTD through a focus group discussion with the Papua Province Regional Infrastructure and Settlement Center.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Biak Calvin Mansnembra said that waste management in Biak Numfor would be better through the establishment of the Biak TPA UPTD institution.

He hopes that through assistance with the Regional Infrastructure Center for the Papua region, he can support the smooth plan for the formation of the Biak UPTD.

The forum for group discussion to strengthen institutional capacity in the framework of the functioning of the sanitation infrastructure of Biak Numfor Regency was held by the Papua Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center, beginning with the presentation of the PPK Planning Erwin Sujipto and opened by Deputy Regent Calvin Mansnembra.
