The Regent believes that "Sentani City Week" is a medium for youth creativity

The Regent of Jayapura, Papua, Mathius Awoitauw believes that the "Sentani City Week" event is a medium for the creativity of young people in the region to develop their talents and skills.

"Sentani City Week is very good for young people because there are band competitions, dances, fashion shows and karaoke competitions," said Mathius in Sentani, Friday.

Sentani City Week, which was held for the first time in Jayapura Regency, was an idea from the local community adopted from the Citayam Fashion Week concept in Jakarta.

He explained that his party gave appreciation to the people who had planned the Sentani Fashion Week in collaboration with the Jayapura Police.

"Then Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are also involved in the activity, so we give high appreciation to the implementing committee," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for Sentani Fashion Week as well as the Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus Maclarimboen said his party collaborated with 20 MSMEs during the event which took place from 22-24 September 2022 at the traffic light junction in Sentani City.

He added that his party conducted an evaluation after three days of Sentani Fashion Week and if possible it would be held every month.

"If this goes well and has a positive impact on the community, we will carry out this event every month," he said.

Sentani Fashion Week was officially opened by Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw on Thursday (22/9).
