89 percent progress, the monumental building is targeted for completion in December

Several regional officials in Papua Province yesterday (17/10) reviewed the progress of the construction of the new building for the Governor's Office and the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP). From the development progress, the construction of new buildings for the Governor's Office and the MRP each reached 89 percent until mid-October 2022.

The Assistant for General Affairs for the Papua Regional Secretary, Derek Hegemur, said that the inauguration of the two monumental buildings that became icons of Jayapura City would still be carried out at the end of December 2022 according to the instructions of the regional head.

“From the results of field monitoring with the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD), we have seen firsthand and received reports from PT. The PP states that the progress of the work has reached 89 percent," Derek told reporters after conducting a review at the MRP Office.
 
Derek also admitted that he was happy because the development of the construction of the two offices located in the city center was so fast and according to plan.
 
"Thus, we hope that the inauguration agenda will be carried out on December 27, 2022 according to the wishes of the Governor. Because this is a monumental building and an icon of the City of Jayapura, so we hope that at the end of this year it can be inaugurated, "he said.

In the same place, the Head of the Papua Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Girius One Yoman said that his party had been pushing for the progress of the construction of the two offices on time.

Moreover, Girius himself received a direct mandate from the Regional Head to ensure that the work on the two new iconic buildings was completed on schedule and inaugurated in December.

"We at the PUPR Office are in a technical position, at this time we continue to push for the construction of the MRP and Governor's Offices. So that in the remaining two months it can be achieved according to the target and in accordance with the Governor's plan to be inaugurated on December 27, 2022, "he said.
 
He is optimistic that the development will be on time, because the PUPR Service is always in the development process. In fact, the PUPR Service will always carry out control so that the work goes according to plan.

Just to note, the construction of the new Papua Governor's Office building cost Rp 393 billion, while the MRP building Rp 291 billion. The two buildings were financed from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

The Papua Governor's Office and the MRP are planned to be inaugurated together with the Papua KPU Office and the Papuan Goods and Services Procurement Bureau. The inauguration is planned for December 27 in conjunction with the anniversary of the Papua Provincial Government.
