Homfolo Village Prepares Facilities for 150 KMAN VI Participants

Homfolo Village, Ebungfauw District, Jayapura Regency, is ready to become a meeting place for the VI Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago (KMAN) VI. Ondofolo Rokhoro Kampung Homfolo, Anderson Tokoro said that his party was ready to hold a KMAN workshop and was ready to accommodate 150 workshop participants.

“Initially we planned to accept 300 workshop participants. But because of the lack of facilities, we were forced to only accommodate 150 participants,” said Anderson Tokoro, last weekend.
 
Anderson Tokoro explained that for lodging facilities, his party has prepared the Homfolo Village Hall, the new and old Traditional Village Offices, the Pustu room, and the Posyandu Hall.

"While other supporting facilities such as toilets, water, docks, workshop locations are also being prepared. But the obstacle we face is that there is no budget support from the committee, so we are still waiting. Even so, we have other infrastructure that we are working on with the village budget,” said Anderson Tokoro.

Ondofolo Anderson hopes that the Jayapura Regency Local Committee will immediately coordinate with the committee in the village to see and work on the facilities that are still lacking.

“We in the village are ready, we are just waiting for the committee to begin to complete the shortfall. For example, for lodging, there are no mattresses," said Ondofolo who is also the Head of the Homfolo Traditional Village.

For the location of the workshop, the indigenous people of Kampung Homfolo have prepared an open field. Tents will be set up in the field.

"We hope that the committee that handles this will immediately coordinate and prepare tents and chairs," said Anderson Tokoro.
