The KPK said that the blocking of the account of Lukas Enembe's wife was not due to absenteeism

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) blocked the bank account belonging to the wife of the suspect Papua Governor Lukas Enembe (LE), Yulce Wenda, not because she did not attend the summons of the investigator team as a witness.

"We have been doing the blocking for a long time, not because the witness was absent and did not come to meet the KPK's summons," said KPK News Section Head Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Thursday.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) blocked the bank account in connection with the investigation into the alleged corruption case of an infrastructure project in Papua Province that ensnared Lukas Enembe as a suspect.

"The investigative team blocked the bank account of suspect LE's wife (Lukas Enembe) as part of the need for evidence in the process of investigating this case," said Ali.

Previously, the KPK informed that Yulce Wenda and Lukas Enembe's son, Astract Bona Timoramo Enembe, did not attend the summons for investigators to be examined as witnesses at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/10).

"Regarding the absences of the witnesses, we will definitely call for a second time; and if they are absent again, then according to legal provisions, a forced pick-up of the witnesses can be carried out," Ali explained.
 
The wife and child of the suspect, Lukas Enembe, did not attend without giving confirmation to the KPK investigators.

"We emphasize that the summoning of witnesses is not only for suspect LE, so there is no legal reason not to attend because there is a family relationship with suspect LE," said Ali Fikri.

The KPK has not officially announced the status of suspect Lukas Enembe. Regarding the publication of the construction of the case and the party who has been named a suspect, the KPK will do so when forced efforts have been made, both arrest and detention, against the suspect.

The KPK has summoned Lukas Enembe to be questioned as a suspect at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Monday (26/9). However, the Governor of Papua did not fulfill the call on the grounds that he was still sick.

The KPK sent back a second summons to Lukas Enembe to be questioned as a suspect. The KPK hopes that Lukas Enembe can fulfill the call.
