Maintain Public Trust, Papuan Indigenous Youth Urges KPK to Arrest Lukas Enembe

In order to maintain public trust in handling corruption cases in Indonesia, the Chairman of the Papuan Indigenous Youth, Region II Saireri, Ali Kabiay, urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to immediately accelerate the legal process against Lukas Enembe.

According to Ali, the KPK in resolving the Rp 1 billion gratification case carried out by Lukas Enembe was too slow

"I hope the KPK can speed up the law enforcement process," said Ali to Tribun-Papua.com, in Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Friday (14/10/2022).

In this case, said Ali, the KPK does not need to use customary law.

"The name of corruption does not use customary law, because this act is a thief, then it must be resolved by positive law that applies in Indonesia," he said.

According to him, if the KPK is late in handling the case of Lukas Enembe, the authority of the state can be lost in Papua.

"This means that the state must be present to solve the problem of corruption cases in Papua, because corruption is an extraordinary crime," he said.
