Manokwari focuses on controlling prices of basic commodities and planting food

We have signed an agreement with the Regents and Mayors throughout West Papua on Friday (21/10) night to follow up on a number of recommendations and inflation problems that we have implemented.

The Manokwari Regency Government focuses on controlling inflation through monitoring and controlling the prices of basic commodities as well as planting complementary food for rice following up on the results of a working meeting of regional leaders throughout West Papua in Aimas District, Sorong Regency.

The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou, in Manokwari, Sunday, explained that inflation control, especially for basic commodities, has been carried out in every market in Manokwari Regency. He said that his party is also ready to hold market operations in the near future.

"We have signed an agreement with the regents and mayors of West Papua on Friday (21/10) night to follow up on a number of recommendations and the inflation problem that we have implemented," he said.

In addition to prices, Hermus explained that food inflation is also a focus. The Manowkari Regency Government has launched a movement to plant rice as a complementary food commodity in 164 villages and 9 sub-districts in Manokwari.

He ensured that his party had also asked all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Manokwari Regency Government to ensure the availability of commodity supplies.

"What we hope is that the availability of commodities that are guaranteed to be guaranteed is mainly chili, onions and tomatoes. The availability of these commodities is expected to suppress inflation in Manokwari," explained Hermus.

The working meeting of regents and mayors throughout West Papua in Sorong Regency, said Hermus, discussed development issues such as handling and eradicating extreme poverty.

In addition to poverty, the discussion also discussed stunting prevention and solving the problem of children dropping out of school, including the shortage of teachers and the average length of schooling for adults.

"The Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) was also discussed to control inflation in every region in West Papua," said Hermus.
