Manokwari Hospital added UTD building and central surgery

The Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) of the Manokwari Regional General Hospital (RSUD), West Papua added two service buildings, namely a blood transfusion and central surgery unit, to complement public health services in the area.

Director of the BLUD of the Manokwari Hospital, Dr. Alwan Rimosan in Manokwari, Thursday, said the hospital continues to strive to complete health services as a referral hospital in the region.

"Previously the blood transfusion unit was only a room, with the presence of this new building, both blood storage and transfusion needs are more complete," he said.

In addition, he said, previously the central surgery was still a building with general surgery, while now it has its own building in the Manokwari Hospital environment.

Manokwari Hospital has been equipped with several other buildings, such as a child care building, a building and delivery room, an adult inpatient building, and the main building.

The UTD building of the Manokwari Hospital and the central surgical building were inaugurated by the Deputy Regent of Manokwari, Edi Budoyo.

"With adequate facilities owned by the hospital and this is one form of maximum support for services provided by the government through hospitals," said Budoyo.

Although in terms of medical personnel and specialist doctors, they have started to complete, he said, they need to be supported with complete equipment as well.

"We are still limited to equipment, if only the minimum service standards can still be overcome, but for more serious ones, additional equipment is needed," he said.

He hopes that in the next few years the Manokwari Hospital can become a referral hospital in the West Papua region, and be successful in accreditation.

"This is a manifestation and a shared desire to improve public services, especially in health services," he said.
