Papuan figure: Luke Enembe is a governor, not a big tribal chief

Papuan leader Onesimus Indey admits that Lukas Enembe is the governor and not the chief of a large tribe in Papua.

"We recognize Mr. Lukas as governor, but as the head of a large tribe in general, I do not agree," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The grandson of the National Hero from Papua, Marthen Indey, emphasized that if Lukas Enembe wanted to become a chief of a large tribe, he had to summon all village heads (Ondoafi) from villages, from all tribes, to enthrone Lukas.

"We are coastal communities, from Skouw to Sarmi, we have our own tribal chiefs, we have Ondoafi," he said.

According to the Depapre community leader, Jayapura Regency, it is impossible for the entire Papua region with around 250 tribes to have one tribal chief because all tribes are equal and equal.
 
“All the tribes and villages in the coastal areas have their own leaders. So did the tribes in the mountains. If there is only one governor, it is public for all of us,'' he emphasized.

He said the information about the appointment of Lukas as the head of a large tribal tribe made him uneasy and disturbed the peace of the community.

Onesimus' anxiety is very reasonable because there are still many other issues related to the Luke Enembe case that have not found a bright spot, such as, there are still many Luke's supporters who are guarding Luke's residence, the possibility of coercion that the KPK can take against Lukas, as well as the family's demands to Lukas was examined by the KPK in the open field and witnessed by the public.
 
"Mr. Lukas just joins the legal process so that the problem is quickly resolved. It's a pity that those who are guarding Mr. Luke's house have been loving their children, wives and jobs for days," he said.

Onesimus asked Luke Enembe to take responsibility for the actions he was accused of and dare to face the law.

“If Mr. Luke already knows there is a problem, please deal with it yourself. Don't involve us people who don't know anything and carry on customs," he hoped.
