Sorong Regency trains 84 digital marketing MSME players

The Sorong Regency Government, West Papua Province trained as many as 84 MSME actors to improve their product marketing capabilities online or digital marketing.

The training which took place from 22-26 October 2022 in collaboration with the Muhammadiyah Education University (Unimuda) of Sorong Regency, in order to increase the insight of MSME actors in the culinary field to develop more advanced.

Assistant II for the Economy and Development of Sorong Regency, Suroso in Sorong, Monday, said that this marketing training was very useful for MSME players to promote and market their products well.

This activity is also a form of local government intervention to promote MSMEs as well as efforts to control inflation in the region.

It is said that currently controlling inflation is the focus of the government from the center to the regions so that strengthening MSMEs is a serious concern in order to produce superior food products that have added value for the economic improvement of the business community.

"Hopefully with this training, MSMEs in Sorong Regency will develop further in the field of marketing so that Sorong Regency's local products can compete in the broad market," he said.

Deputy Chancellor of the Sorong Regency Muhammadiyah Education University, Mukhlas Triono, who gave a separate statement, said that improving the welfare of the community is not only the responsibility of the local government but all components of the nation in the area, including universities as educational institutions.

Therefore, his party helps local governments improve the welfare of the community, especially culinary business people by providing marketing training.

Because various superior products of SMEs in Sorong Regency, especially culinary foods with local raw materials such as sago and sweet potatoes, have difficulty marketing these products widely outside the region.

He hopes that MSME actors can benefit from the training carried out, especially increasing knowledge about digital marketing.
