The Jayapura Regency Government disburses IDR 7 billion in religious and educational aid

The Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab) of Papua Province will immediately distribute special autonomy (Otsus) funds of Rp. 7 billion specifically to finance educational and religious programs in the region.

Jayapura District Secretary Hanna Hikoyabi in a press release received in Jayapura, Monday, said the special autonomy fund of Rp 7 billion had been received and managed by the Secretariat Division at the Jayapura District Secretariat.

The budget will begin to be distributed next week to religious and educational institutions.

According to Hanna, as many as 80 religious institutions in 'Bumi Kenambai Umbai' will receive assistance from the special autonomy fund received by the Jayapura Regency Government of Rp. 7 billion specifically used for educational and religious development programs.

"However, the disbursement of funds will be carried out after the entire proposal verification process is completed this week because some have submitted applications for assistance," he said.

He explained that the amount of assistance will be adjusted according to the proposed needs.

Related to that, his party assessed that assistance for religious institutions would be better if the nominal assistance was equalized.

"But the most important thing is that the proposal verification process is completed quickly so that the distribution of funds can also be carried out," he said.

He added that after that the funds for all schools in Jayapura Regency would be distributed.
