Joint TNI-Polri personnel arrest one KKB member in Papua

Joint TNI-Polri personnel arrested a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) named Luther Japugau (LJ) in Yokatapa Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, Friday (4/11/2022). Luther was a member of the group led by Undius Kogoya.
 
"It is true, the joint TNI-Polri security forces have succeeded in arresting Luther Japugau (LJ) a member of the Undius Kogoya KKB group," said Head of Information for Military Command (Kapendam) XVII/Cenderawasih, Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman in his statement, Saturday (11/5/2020). 2022).
 
Herman said that when Luther was about to be arrested, he had time to escape to the Yokatapa field. Then, the officer gave one warning shot upwards.

However, Luther ignored the warning shots. He kept trying to escape, until finally the security forces paralyzed Luther by shooting him in the leg twice.

"After being paralyzed, (Luther Japugau) was then evacuated to the Sugapa Health Center," he said.

In addition, Herman also admitted that Elpina Dwitau (7 years old) was injured as a result of being hit by a bullet shot or a bullet richocet. This incident occurred when the joint security forces arrested Luther.

"The gunshot wound to the right waist was caused by the ammunition collection. Then they were evacuated to the Sugapa Health Center," said Herman.

He explained that now Elpina was referred to Nabire Hospital for medical treatment. The victim was accompanied by his parents. Herman added that the conditions in Intan Jaya after Luther's arrest were conducive. He said people were doing their normal activities.
