The Kaimana Health Service is planning health service innovations

The Kaimana District Health Office, West Papua, launched the latest innovations through the health service movement in the form of TB puzzles, birth flags, blood booster tablets and weighing operations to improve the quality of public health.

Deputy Regent of Kaimana Hasbulla Furuada in Kaimana, Tuesday, said the momentum of commemorating the 58th National Health Day (HKN) this year is expected to strengthen the commitment of all levels of health in Kaimana to be even more active in providing health services to people who are of a much higher quality.

"Thank you for all the services that have been provided by the health workers for the people of Kaimana Regency so far. It is still related to the 58th HKN moment, it is hoped that there will be efforts to improve services for the community," said Furuada.

Wabup Kaimana asked the local Health Office to give awards to health workers who really dedicated themselves to serving the community, especially those assigned to remote and remote villages.

"The reward given is a sign of appreciation for the service and dedication that has been given by the health workers who work in villages far from the city," he said.

The head of the Kaimana Health Service, Arifin Sirfefa, explained that the proposed health service innovation aims to suppress health problems which are currently still quite high, such as stunting, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria cases.

Arifin said the Kaimana Regency Government is committed to immediately eliminating malaria cases in 2024.

In order for the malaria problem in Kaimana to be resolved as soon as possible, according to him, it requires the joint commitment of all components and elements, including the community itself.

"We are optimistic that through cooperation and collaboration between all parties, we can realize Kaimana's commitment to be free of malaria cases in 2024," he explained.

As for the innovation of applying birth flags, he said, to assist the handling of pregnant women during pregnancy.

In front of the houses of families who have pregnant women, flags with several colors are put up as a sign of the term of pregnancy.

"Like the red flag for about one month of labour. Then the green flag is for 5-7 months of labour, and the yellow color is a sign that there is a pregnant woman," said Arifiin.

Meanwhile, the innovation of giving blood-boosting tablets is intended for young women who aim to treat stunting. The target weighing operation innovation is young women and pregnant women.
