YPK 1 and YPK 2 Manokwari Middle Schools Receive Assistance for 20 Computer Units

The Manokwari Regency Government through the Manokwari Regency Education and Culture Office handed over ICT (Computer) equipment assistance to YPK 1 and 2 Manokwari Junior High Schools in the framework of the month of mutual cooperation to commemorate the 124th Anniversary of Manokwari City in 2022.

The handover of the aid was immediately handed over by the Regent of Manokwari Hermus Indou at the YPK 2 Middle School Manokwari Hall, Tuesday (1/11/2022) accompanied by Assistant I of the Manokwari Secretariat, Wanto, the head of the Manokwari district education and culture office, Marthinus Dowansiba and a member of the Manokwari DPRD, Erni Sausage.
 
As for the assistance received for SMP YPK 01 and SMP YPK 02 in the form of 20 computers, 10 units each for SMP YPK 1 and 10 units for SMP YPK 2.
 
The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou in his speech said that the visit of the Manokwari Regency Government did not only provide assistance, but also wanted to see and hear firsthand the general condition of education at the school.

According to him, quality Human Resources (HR) are born from qualified education, for that the Manokwari Regency Government is committed to paying attention to educational institutions in this area.
 
"The quality of education is the key word, which is the joint responsibility of the Manokwari Regency Government and the education provider itself," said the regent.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMP YPK 2 Manokwari, Isak Kamodi said that the two Christian Education Foundation (YPK) schools in Papua have around 600-700 students, 95 percent of whom are indigenous Papuans (OAP) from various unskilled labor backgrounds, from traders and farmers.

"Even though they come from different backgrounds, the enthusiasm for learning from school children is very high," he said.
 
Isak hopes that with the help of this computer, it will certainly support the teaching and learning process at SMP YPK 1 and SMP YPK 2 Manokwari.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Manokwari Regency Education and Culture Office, Martinus Dowansiba, revealed that the computer assistance for YPK 1 Junior High School and YPK 2 Junior High School Manokwari each school received 10 computers.
 
"The funding for this activity comes from the special autonomy budget of Rp. 200 million, which is contained in the DPA of the Manokwari Education Office in 2022," said Martinus.
