IDX Papua cares about the environment handing over 800 tree seedlings

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Papua handed over 800 tree seedlings as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the form of environmental awareness in Kampwolker Village, Jayapura City, Papua.

Head of BEI Papua Kresna Payokwa in Jayapura said Friday that the assistance was received by the Jayapura City Environment and Sanitation Service and the local Water Supply Company (PDAM), where the tree seedlings were matoa, areca nut, avocado.

"The focus of IDX CSR activities for 2022 is targeting the education, environment and health sectors," he said.

According to Kresna, the CSR given is a concern for the community and the surrounding environment which is routinely held every year.

"For the three areas that are the focus of CSR activities, this has been realized in the form of a medical device assistance program at the Abepura Regional Hospital, donation of uniforms for Ifar Babrongko Elementary School in Yoboi Village, and handover of 800 tree seedlings to PDAM Jayapura and Jayapura City Government," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Sanitation and Environment Office of Jayapura City, Abdullah said that his party appreciates the attention and support for the environment. He hopes that the community and environmental observers who are partners in this activity can complete the planting of 800 tree seeds.

"We urge local residents not to carelessly open gardens or settlements but must follow the rules so that the existence of protected forests can be maintained," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jayapura City PDAM Public Service Unit, Bambang, said that he hopes that planting tree seeds can be one of the efforts to carry out environmental rehabilitation in the damaged Kampwolker River.

"This has resulted in a decrease in water discharge at several intake points, which has led to a scarcity of clean water in the city of Jayapura," said Bambang.
