Pemkab Biak inaugurated 40 new stalls at the Faidoma Darfuar market

The government of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua inaugurated the construction of 40 new stalls at the Faidoma Darfuar market, Samofa District to boost the local economy.

"I ask for the 40 kiosks that have been built by the government through the industry and trade agency (Disperindag) so that they can be given to traders equally according to ownership," said Biak Numfor Regent Herry Ario Naap after inaugurating the Faidoma Darfuar market stall in Biak, Tuesday.

Herry Naap admitted that the government's goal is to build dozens of kiosk units at the Faidoma Darfuar market to drive the wheels of the people's economy in Biak Numfor Regency.

He is optimistic that by using the Faidoma Darfuar market stall, in the future it can contribute to the income of traders and retribution for the local government.

"I ask that the division of market stalls prioritize owners who have previously occupied trading places so that they do not cause problems in allotment for traders," he said.

Herry Naap asked the traders of the Faidoma Darfuar market to pay attention to environmental cleanliness and to pay attention to the maintenance of the stalls so that the buildings where they sell are more durable.

Separately, Head of the Biak Industry and Trade Office, Yubelius Usior, explained that financing for the construction of 40 plots of Faidoma Darfuar market stalls was sourced from the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Trade assistance funds for the 2022 fiscal year.

Usior stated that the budget allocation for the physical project work of 40 plots of Faidoma Darfuar market stalls was IDR 2.7 billion out of the total allocated IDR 3 billion.

"The size of the 40 plots of market stalls that have been built is 3x3 meters," he said.

Participating in witnessing the inauguration of 40 stalls were Deputy Regent of Biak Numfor Calvin Mansnembra and heads of services, agencies and offices, village head and Samofa District head Adam Umar.
