The Biak Tourism Office trained 40 special tour guide personnel



The District Government of Biak Numfor, Papua through the Tourism Office (Dispar) provided skills training to 40 special tour guides to help accelerate the promotion of the tourism sector in an effort to increase the flow of tourist visits in the area.

Lot L. Jensenem, Assistant II to the Biak Regional Secretary for the economy, in Biak, Wednesday, said that good human resource tour guides have become a mandatory requirement to support the development of the Biak Numfor Regency tourism sector at this time.

"This is for the realization of good tourism services for tourist visiting services to Biak Numfor which really need guidance," said Assistant Regional Secretary of Biak Lot Jensenem reading the message from Regent Herry Ario Naap at the opening of the 2022 tour guide training.

Lot Jensenem acknowledged that the role of tour guides in supporting increasing tourist visits is closely related to the promotion of various tourist objects.

Moreover, the tourism sector in Biak Numfor, according to Assistant Regional Secretary Lot Jensenem, has become one of the region's leading programs so that the role of a professional tour guide is needed.

"Through training tour guides can add skills to support increased tourist visits to Biak Numfor," said Lot Jensenem.
Meanwhile, another objective of this training, according to Lot Jensenem, is to increase the knowledge, motivation and competence of tour guides so that they can provide professionalism and quality tour guide services to tourists.

"We hope that through this activity it will become a forum for Biak tour guides to increase the knowledge and competence of tour guides," hoped the former Head of BPKAD Biak Numfor.

Meanwhile, the organizing committee for the Biak tour guide training, A.Sroyer, said that as many as 40 tour guide participants were given theoretical and field practice materials at the location of the 'Fairy Tale' tourist attraction in Kampung Padwa Sup, Yendidori District.

"The tour guide training schedule starts November 30 to December 2 2022, it is hoped that it will increase the competence and professionalism of Biak Numfor tour guides," he said.
