The Provincial Government of Papua was asked to allocate a budget for the Lukas Enembe Numfor hospital

The Regent of Biak Numfor, Papua Herry Ario Naap asked the Papua Provincial Government to allocate a budget for the public Primary Hospital "Lukas Enembe" Numfor to serve the health of residents from 49 villages/villages in five districts/sub-districts in the Numfor archipelago.

"Various elements of society in Biak Numfor Regency are very supportive of the operation of the Lukas Enembe hospital, which was built in 2016," said Regent Herry Ario Naap in a press statement in Biak, Wednesday.

He expects operational budget support from the Papua Provincial Government and the health office for health services for residents in the five districts of the island of Numfor.

Regent Herry Naap admitted that since the Lukas Enembe hospital was built on Numfor Island in 2016, he had never been assisted even though his position was very strategic because it provided medical care to local residents.

"The presence of the Lukas Enembe type D hospital to serve the people in the Numfor archipelago needs to be supported by a budget allocation from the Papua Provincial Government because it is the only one being built in an archipelago area," he said.

The Biak Numfor Regency Government at this time, according to Regent Herry Naap, is still waiting for a claim for payment of the Papua Health Card budget from the Papua Provincial Government for the Biak Hospital in the amount of IDR 18.5 billion.

"The Papua Healthy Card has served 34,000 indigenous Papuans from Supiori, Waropen, Yapen Islands to Nabire districts," said Regent Herry Naap.

Regarding the Papua special autonomy funds received during his three years in office from 2019-2022, according to Regent Herry Naap, in detail 2019 Rp. 32 billion, 2020 Rp. 32 billion, 2021 Rp. 32 billion and only in 2022 Rp. 123.9 billion.

Meanwhile, infrastructure funds in 2021 will receive IDR 10 billion and IDR 1.5 billion in 2022.

"The Biak Numfor regency government hopes that the provincial government and the head of the Papua Bappeda can provide valid information regarding the distribution of the special autonomy funds with a percentage of 80:20 so that there is no misinterpretation in the community," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Biak Manpun Customary Council JJK Mandibodibo fully supports Regent Herry Ario Naap's policy of building basic service facilities for residents in the five districts of the Numfor archipelago.

"We encourage the Lukas Enembe hospital facility to continue to be built to serve health for the people in the Numfor archipelago," hoped JJK Mandibodibo.

The people of 49 villages from five districts of Numfor Island received health services from the Lukas Enembe Hospital from West Numfor, East Numfor, Orkeri, Bruyadori and Poiru districts.
