Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw, SE, M.Sc., inaugurated the construction of a number of Non 3T (Disadvantaged, Front and Outermost) BTS Towers Bakti Kominfo at a number of points in Jayapura Regency which are centered in Yakonde Village, Waibhu District, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Monday ( 5/12/2022).

Also present at the inauguration were Head of Communications and Informatics Office Gustaf Griapon, ST, Head of Bappeda Parson Horota, Member of the Jayapura Regency DPRD Kostan Daimoi, a number of OPD leaders in the Jayapura Regency Government, Uspidis and Ondofolo as well as local tribal chiefs.

"Not only have our communication needs been answered, but also the presence of the Non 3T Bakti Kominfo BTS Tower has also helped our children at school to be able to access the internet for their learning needs," said Teacher Seppy ending his presentation.

Furthermore, the Project Director of IBS Bakti Kominfo, Harry Wibowo said, especially for Jayapura Regency, the Jayapura Regent is very concerned about its citizens.

This is proven by the Jayapura Regent's letter on January 17 2022 which was submitted for the addition of several candidate points or locations for the construction of Non 3T BTS Towers.

Where, in the previous list a number of locations were not included. However, based on the Regent's letter, several candidates emerged.

After the proposal was reviewed and assessed, both location and potential, as well as synchronization maps from Telkomsel and Indosat, it was agreed that for Jayapura Regency there would be approximately 46 towers built in total.

Of these 46, 39 have started processing, we have sent materials to several locations and 19 are already operational. We are doing all of this and we are targeting that the construction will end at the end of 2022.

"Hopefully the existence of this tower can increase enthusiasm and increase development, both in terms of economy, culture and education for sons and daughters to face competition in this era of globalization," he added.

For this reason, he hopes that in all places it can be like that, because the tower facilities being built are to answer the communication and education needs of children.

According to Mathius, collaboration and mutual support between one another is needed. The contribution of indigenous peoples prepares the land to launch development, a plot of land provided by adat can help many generations over the years.

The facilities that were built belong to the community, so they must be maintained and maintained. Because it stands on customary land, it is the responsibility of indigenous peoples to look after it and the State only helps.

"Because we have technological capabilities and facilities, these assets are ours. There shouldn't be any problems with the towers being built throughout Jayapura Regency," said Mathius Awoitauw hopefully.

Still in the same place, the Head of the Jayapura Regency Communication and Information Service Gustaf Griapon, ST, said that the total towers built in the Jayapura Regency area were 39 BTS Non 3T Bakti Kominfo towers.

"There are 19 sites that are already on or active, while there are still 20 sites that are still in progress and we hope that there will be more from Bakti Kominfo in accordance with the proposal we submitted," he explained.

Apart from that, Gustaf also added, from the non-3T progress not only from Bakti Kominfo, but also a number of towers built by Indosat as many as 9 towers and the construction has been completed.

Apart from that, there are also 33 towers from Telkomsel, but the construction is gradual and currently around 7 have been built while the rest will follow to be built.
