The Vice President Asks Commander Yudo to be more assertive about the KKB in Papua

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, to be more assertive towards the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. This was conveyed by Kiai Ma'ruf because there is still violence happening in Papua at this time.

"Because there are still so many acts of violence perpetrated by the KKB, there may be firmer steps to deal with them," Ma'ruf said in a press statement at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (20/12).

However, continued Ma'ruf, the current government is still taking a humanist approach in dealing with security in Papua. Firm action was only taken against the KKB which caused chaos in Papua. "That was indeed voiced by many parties to protect and protect the people in Papua," said Ma'ruf.

Ma'ruf also said that security conditions in the Papua region were relatively good. According to the Vice President, only a few areas experienced security disturbances.

"Only in certain areas, the rest of Papua is conducive and safe. I have been going around and around for five days from Jayapura, Merauke, Timika, Kaimana, to Biak, safe," he said.

"I think it is, so even if there is it is actually still in the area of a small group, but it must be faced more firmly," he added.
