Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw said that the local provincial government's revenue in 2023 is projected to be Rp. 7.62 trillion consisting of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Rp. 626.8 billion and transfers from the Central Government of Rp. 6.99 trillion.

This was revealed in the 2023 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Draft Budget (RAPBD) document submitted by the Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw to the local DPRP on Monday night.

Paulus Waterpauw stated that the preparation of the 2023 RAPBD was guided by the West Papua Province Regional Development Plan (RPD) for the 2023-2026 period which focused on efforts to accelerate economic development and community empowerment.

"By increasing the quality of superior human resources supported by basic infrastructure and regional connectivity as well as a sustainable environment which contains the values of sustainable development within the corridors of special autonomy," explained Waterpauw.

In general, the West Papua APBD construction for 2023 is projected revenue of IDR 7.62 trillion. The revenue component consists of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of IDR 626.8 billion, originating from regional taxes, regional levies, results of separated regional wealth management, and other legitimate PAD.

Then transfer income from the Central Government amounted to IDR 6.99 trillion, consisting of balancing funds, special autonomy funds and additional infrastructure funds.

The regional expenditure is projected to be Rp. 8.18 trillion, consisting of operational expenditure of Rp. 3.52 trillion which includes personnel expenditure, goods and services expenditure, grant expenditure, and social assistance expenditure.

Furthermore, capital expenditure of IDR 2.12 trillion includes capital expenditure for land, capital expenditure for equipment and machinery, capital expenditure for buildings and buildings, and capital expenditure for roads, networks and irrigation, capital expenditure for fixed assets, and unexpected expenditure.

Thus there is a surplus remaining in the calculation of the current budget year of IDR 605 billion.

On that occasion, the Governor of Waterpauw hoped that the people's representatives in the West Papua DPRP would be able to research, review and review the 2023 RAPBD that had been submitted by the Regional Government for further decisions to be made.

"I hope that the draft APBD can be immediately discussed and determined while taking into account the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations," said Waterpauw.

The West Papua RAPBD document was received by the Chairperson of the West Papua DPRP Orgenes Wonggor and a plenary meeting will then be held with an agenda for the general views of the factions up to the final views and the determination of the 2023 APBD.
