Social Minister Juliari P Batubara said, the Family Beneficiary (KPM) social assistance Program Family of Hope and Non-Cash Food Assistance in Papua and West Papua continued to receive assistance even though they did not have a Population Identification Number (NIK).

"Specifically for Papua and West Papua, it will still be given to KPM which do not yet have NIK because of the consideration of the conditions of political stability and security in the area," Juliari said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said, in the future the provision of social assistance would be focused on KPM which was included in the Ministry of Social Social Welfare Integrated Data and had NIK.

At present, according to Juliari, matching DTKS that does not yet have a NIK continues to be done in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs has also coordinated with the Director General of Population and Civil Registry (Dindukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The coordination was conducted to discuss the provision of NIK-based social assistance," he said.

From the data of underprivileged citizens managed by the Integrated Social Welfare Data System (DTKS), of 98 million people, there are around 30 million people whose NIK is unclear.

"This is what we encourage, so that Dindukcapil can do door-to-door matching. We want social assistance for underprivileged citizens to be on target on a NIK basis," he added.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has integrated social welfare data. The data includes the lowest 40 percent household socioeconomic status consisting of demographic, education, health, housing, asset ownership, and social assistance program membership and / or subsidies.

The data is managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs so that all social assistance programs in the Ministry of Social Affairs can be effective and well targeted. With NIK-based funds, social assistance funds that are channeled are expected to avoid potential fraud.
