Voting Simulation for 11 Regencies in Papua
Merauke Regency is the host for the simulation of voting and counting of votes and the use of sirekap at the polling station level, for 11 districts of Papua Province in the 2020 simultaneous election.
The simulation was held at the Tanah Miring district office yard, Merauke, Saturday (20/11) which was attended by hundreds of people from new living villages, and was directly monitored by the commissioner of the Indonesian KPU, Ilham Saputra.
The simulation is intended to strengthen organizers in carrying out health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The silumation was followed by KPU commissioners from 11 districts in Papua who held the regional elections to strengthen the organizers in carrying out health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic.

From the simulation, it is clear that the KPU is working hard to make the regional head elections in Papua successful.
Unlike the previous general elections, this election every officer and even voters is obliged to use personal protective equipment and follow health protocols, namely, washing hands with soap, wearing masks, and maintaining distance.
In the simulation, it also illustrates that when the voter wants to enter the TPS, the body temperature is measured with a temperature measuring device.
If there are voters who have a body temperature above 37 degrees, they will be directed to a special ballot box or separate ballot box.
The Indonesian KPU commissioner, Ilham Saputra, said that this simulation was held simultaneously in all regions in Indonesia that held Pilkada.
Ilham also asked 11 regional KPUs in Papua to make the national agenda a success.
Meanwhile, the head of KPU Papua, Theodorus Kossay, said that the simulation which was held in Merauke became the guideline for the regency KPU which held the regional elections. Later, the KPU will also practice it in their respective regions.
"In the next election, we as the organizers must ensure the safety of voters and polling station officers," he said.
