The Deputy Governor of Papua invites the head of OPD to succeed the XX PON

Deputy Governor of Papua Province Klemen Tinal invites the head of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) within the Papua Provincial Government to succeed in organizing the XX National Sports Week (PON) in October 2021.

"I invite the OPD head to work to help PB PON succeed in the XX PON, this is a great and historical celebration for the Papuan people," said the Deputy Governor in Jayapura via the Papua Provincial Government website.

Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal emphasized that the government will support PB PON, so that this four-year sporting event can take place successfully and smoothly. "Two years ago we had a Road Show to a number of Indonesian Ministries in Jakarta aimed at the success of holding PON. The OPD heads will follow up on what the ministry will help for PON in Papua," explained the Deputy Governor when submitting DPA for the 2021 budget year.

According to him, the PON XX Papua schedule is only six months away and even though this PON is the country's agenda, the Papua Province as the host must be proud because for the first time the land of Papua is entrusted to host this event.

"We have to seriously work, don't leave PB PON working alone, we have to help so that PON in Papua is successful, and participants who come and will return will bring a good impression about Papua," hoped the Deputy Governor of Klemen Tinal.

Previously, President Joko Widodo had reminded that PON in Papua is not just a sports competition. But PON is a common arena to celebrate diversity, strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and an arena to strengthen unity and integrity.

Regarding infrastructure development, President Jokowi requested that this infrastructure be useful not only during PON. He hopes that the community can still take advantage of the infrastructure built in the long term.

So, do not let the sports infrastructure that have been built at a significant expense not be utilized and become damaged after the implementation of the PON. The Deputy Governor said, with the XX PON, the venues had been built magnificently in Papua Province.

"The construction of the venue is expected not only for the PON event, but also for the Papuan people as a sports arena for the community, so that one day talented athletes from the land of Cenderawasih will be born," hoped the Deputy Governor of Klemen Tinal.
