BPSDM Papua conducts scholarship management training in Jakarta

The Papua Provincial Government through the Human Resources Development Agency is holding scholarship management training for State Civil Servants. The training took place at the Morissey Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (4/3/2021).

In this training, the Papua Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) collaborates with the Ministry of National Development Planning / National Development Planning Agency (PPN / Bappenas), the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) and the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) of the Republic of Indonesia. The head of the Papua Province BPSDM, Aryoko AF Rumaropen representing the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe stated that the training was specifically for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who handled affirmation education scholarships for students / native Papuans (OAP).

"This training is specifically for ASN which specifically handles affirmation scholarships for indigenous Papuans. [The training] will be held for two days, 4 - 5 March 2021, "said Rumaropen when opening the training, as quoted from a written press release received by Jubi on Thursday (4/3/2021).

Rumaropen stated that the training was aimed at increasing the capacity and competence of apparatus resources, as well as optimizing better scholarship management services for the Papua Provincial Government, especially at BPSDM. "This management training is for service optimization and better scholarship management at BPSDM Papua Province," he said.

The training presented six sources who provided material. They include the Head of the Education and Training Planner Training Center (Pusbindiklatren) of the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas, the Director of Resources at the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Main Director of the Ministry of Finance's Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP). Meanwhile, the other three sources came from three international educational institutions, namely the Manager of the Australia Award Indonesia, the Manager of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Manager of the Jakarta International College (JIC).

Acting Regional Secretary for Papua Province, Doren Wakerkwa in Jayapura said that the Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) is committed to building human resources in Cenderawasih Earth. This is proven by facilitating Papuan children to receive education in various schools and universities in Indonesia and abroad.

"The Papua Provincial Government, through the Special Autonomy Affirmation Scholarship Program, from 2009 to 2020 has sent 1051 students to study at various universities at home and abroad. And more than a thousand graduates from various universities at home and abroad, "said Wakerkwa.

"I represent the governor and deputy governor to convey information on the implementation and achievements of the Papua Provincial Government in programs to improve the quality of human resources and character development for Indigenous Papuans carried out by the Papua Province BPSDM to the indigenous people. When added up, the total domestic and foreign graduates from the Papua Special Autonomy scholarship program are 1051 people, "he said.
