Local Government Personnel in Papua Supply Money for KKB Weapons

Persons in the local government (Pemda) of Puncak, Papua are suspected of having contributed to the supply of funds for the purchase of weapons and ammunition for the armed criminal group, known as KKB.

The disclosure of the name of the Pemda Puncak began from a notebook belonging to Ratius Murib alias Neson Murib, a supplier of firearms and ammunition, to the armed criminal group (KKB).

In the notebook, it was written that the Puncak Regional Government gave Rp600 million to the Lekagak Telenggen group.

"Currently, the involvement of these names is still being investigated," said the spokesman for the Nemangkawi Task Force, Commissioner Iqbal Alqudusy.

Neson was previously arrested at Mulia Airport, Puncak Jaya Regency on June 14, 2021.

Iqbal also ensured that his party would examine all names suspected of being involved in the sale and purchase of firearms and ammunition to this armed group.

"All those suspected of being involved must be investigated according to the evidence of transfer to the suspect," said Iqbal. It is known that from the sale and purchase of weapons and ammunition, Neson Murib earned Rp 1.3 billion. When he was arrested, he was found carrying Rp. 370 million which was allegedly intended to buy firearms from someone.

"The team will continue to dig up information on sources of funds and remittance activities to buy weapons and ammunition from the suspect Neson Murib," said Iqbal.
