PAPUA LAND IS DEVELOPING BECAUSE OF OTSUS

Chairman of Commission C DPRD of South Manokwari Regency, Esau A. Ahoren said that the implementation of Otsus for the last 20 years in Papua has provided great benefits for the development and improvement of the quality of OAP human resources. Therefore, the sustainability of the Special Autonomy needs to be continuously supported for the welfare of the Papuan people.

"Otsus is very useful, therefore it must be continued," said Esau.

He added that there must be improvements in the management and distribution of Otsus funds so that they can be felt directly by small communities.

He also asked the central government to form a special institution that oversees the management of Otsus funds, so that the Otsus program can be right on target and anticipate the misappropriation of Otsus funds.

"There is a lot of misuse of Otsus funds by related officials so that the impact of Otsus is not maximal"

He advised the OAP community to always support the sustainability of Otsus which has actually built the Land of Papua.
