Successfully Limit Papuan KKB Activities, PBNU Chair Appreciates Government

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Marsudi Syuhud appreciated the government for being successful in combating and limiting the activities of terrorists by armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua.

According to him, the Indonesian government is very serious about taking the necessary actions to deal with the recent violence in Papua. In fact, through its policies, the government has designated the KKB as a terrorist group that has often committed criminal offenses, such as massive and brutal murder and violence.

He emphasized that Papua is part of Indonesia and cannot be contested. Internationally, legally and politically, Papua is finished. "When someone tries to interfere with the journey of democracy, law, politics in Papua, the Indonesian government is obliged to solve it," said Marsudi Syuhud.

According to him, the emergence of the disorder of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua, has become part of the government's task in solving it.

"I convey that not all Papuans are terrorists, terrorists are only personal, namely, those who commit various crimes and acts of terror in Papua," said Marsudi Syhud.

According to him, by deploying the TNI-Polri to hunt down terrorists in Papua for the safety and comfort of the people from the crimes and terror acts carried out by the Papuan KKB, the government's steps must be appreciated.

"We express our appreciation for the government. The presence of the TNI-Polri has provided a sense of security for the Papuan people and succeeded in suppressing the crimes committed by the KKB," said Marsudi.

He said the government of President Joko Widodo had tried to make various breakthroughs and steps to change the people of Papua in a more advanced direction. Such as giving freedom for the Papuan government to manage the budget, government and others. Even the allocation of Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds also increased by 0.25%.

"Because it is a government budget, of course it must be monitored, the same as other regional governments. So, the funds provided can really benefit the Papuan people," he said.
