Police Pursue Gun Suppliers for KKB in Puncak Papua
The Papuan Police are still pursuing firearms suppliers to armed criminal group terrorists (KKB) in Puncak Regency. Only two people were arrested in Genyem, Jayapura Regency.
"Members are still conducting investigations and pursuing groups suspected of being suppliers of firearms and ammunition to the KKB in Puncak Regency. Only two people have been arrested since Friday (3 September) in various areas in Jayapura Regency," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Papua Police, Kombes Faizal Rahmadani. in Jayapura, as reported by Antara, Friday.
He said his party was continuing to explore and pursue individuals suspected of being involved in the network.
Meanwhile, two suspected KKB members who have been arrested are now being held at the Papua Police Headquarters, Jayapura. The police confiscated evidence in the form of three firearms, one of which was an organic M-16 type along with five magazines.
Three of the five magazines that were secured contained bullets.
The police also confiscated Rp. 28 million.
The disclosure of the case began with the arrest of Gigen Telenggen in the East Sentani area, from which three firearms and ammunition were secured by his confession.
The firearm is stored in the ground after previously being put in a chest.
After securing Gigen Telengen, four hours later members also arrested AT. "Hopefully members can catch and uncover the network," said Faizal.
