TNI Arrests 2 Papuan KKB Members Here Are 5 Guns, These Are Their Identity
TNI personnel arrested two people suspected of being members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, in Oksibil District, Tuesday (7/9/2021).
Of the two people, the TNI secured a total of 5 firearms.
Among them were two M-16 firearms, one of which was equipped with a grenade launcher, and one assembled rifle.
"Personnel from Koramil 1715-05/Batom along with Linmas Batom District managed to arrest two members of the Ngalum Kupel KKB led by Lamek Taplo," said Danrem 172/PWY, Brigadier General Isak Pangemanan, in a written statement, Tuesday.
According to him, the arrests stemmed from reports from the public who suspected the presence of two unknown people in the river using a small boat.
"They used a Johnson boat from the direction of PNG to Mongham, which is the KKB base," said Isak.
However, the boat used by the two people was damaged while in Muara Village.
After the personnel of Koramil 1715-05/Batom received the report, four members of the Koramil along with several youths and members of the Linmas moved to the location by boat.
"Our personnel then conducted a siege in the middle of the Oksip – Mongham river and managed to arrest two KKB members named Yulian Uropmabin (36) and Kapol Uropmabin (42)," he said.
After bringing the two men to the Koramil, they were then examined and found some evidence.
The evidence that was secured was 35 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, two GLMs, two cell phones, six sharp weapons, one solar cell, five flash drives, one OPM flag, three "Open" flags.
Then, two small "Open" flags, one slingshot, one FC KK, one health card book, two plane tickets, one pocket book, eight bags, and one umbrella tent.
Currently, the two suspected members of the KKB are detained at the Koramil 1715-05/Batom.
