Ministry of Finance Increases Papua Special Autonomy Fund Allocation to 2.25 Percent
Head of the Ministry of Finance's Fiscal Policy Agency, Febrio Kacaribu, said the government would increase Papua's special autonomy fund to 2.25 percent of the National General Allocation Fund (DAU) ceiling. The note is that the increase in the special autonomy fund must be followed by improvements and sharpening in the scheme of allocation of funds, distribution and governance of the special autonomy fund.
"We also convey that with the enactment of Law Number 2 of 2021, the Government will extend the special autonomy fund to a total amount of 2.25 percent of the national DAU ceiling," said the 2022 State Budget Discussion, Jakarta, (18/10).
The Papua Special Autonomy budget was increased because it was considered to have a significant impact on people in eastern Indonesia. So it is hoped that if the budget is increased the impact will be even greater.
"This Special Autonomy Fund can have a significant impact in Papua," he said.
Meanwhile, in general, the Transfer to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD) budget in the 2022 APBN is IDR 769.6 trillion. This budget, said Febrio, is expected to encourage an increase in regional spending to accelerate the improvement and distribution of community welfare.
The use of general transfer funds aims to encourage regional infrastructure for economic recovery, human resource development and health spending. Then the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) was created to achieve regional outputs and outcomes, to support the improvement of public services.
Meanwhile, village funds function as an important instrument to support village economic recovery, village social protection, activities for handling COVID-19 and priority sectors.
