At a hearing in Jayapura recently, the Head of KSOP Jayapura accompanied by the Head of the Sea Transport Traffic Section and Port Business Willem Thobias Fofid and the Technical Team for Sea Transport Traffic and Services Business Related to Horning Felle and Jan Imbiri emphasized that they would continue to make breakthroughs and innovation in line with the spirit of development in Papua. Especially to support the National Strategic Sea Highway Program with the aim of Connectivity and Disparity.
In addition, the management of ports and shipping business in Papua, especially Jayapura, will prioritize Papuan culture and context, which is expected to involve all stakeholders, both the Central Government, Regional Governments, Private Sector, CSOs and the community, especially Papuan People (OAP).

It is noted that the current Sea Highway program is increasing by presenting 11 routes out of 32 routes in 2021 which includes 30 stopover ports and 1 base port. The development model is the Hub Port, namely the Merauke Port.
