Investigate Allegations of Misappropriation of PON XX and Peparnas XIV Funds, Kadepa: It Must

A member of the Commission for Government, Politics, Law and Human Rights (HAM) DPR Papua, Laurenzus Kadepa said the parties must account for the use of funds for the XX National Sports Week and XVI National Parampik Week (Peparnas) in Papua in 2021.

He said, after the implementation of PON XX in October 2021 and Peparnas, November 2021, various parties asked law enforcement to investigate allegations of misuse of funds in the two national sporting events.

According to him, the request was for the success of the administration of the implementation of PON XX and Perparnas XVI in Papua.

"Accountability must be, and I believe the PON XX Committee and Peparnas XVI, must be ready to account for all," said Laurenzus, Sunday (11/28/2021).

According to him, another task for the local government after the implementation of the XX PON, is to resolve the problem of compensation for the customary lands of indigenous peoples, which are used for the construction of the XX PON venue.

Because, until now there is still a payment of compensation for customary land that has not been completed. For example, in Jayapura Regency, Jayapura City and several other places.

"The settlement of the rights of PON volunteers, journalists/press, drivers, and bonuses for Peparnas athletes must also be realized immediately," he said.

He also appealed to all parties, especially the Papuan people, not to be provoked by various government affairs that are currently, and will run in the future.

He said, if necessary, the people urge and participate in guarding the law enforcement process as part of the principle of public information disclosure.

This is to ensure the professionalism of law enforcement agencies, in the process of law enforcement against corruptors.
